Early Years Foundation Stage

Welcome to Easingwold Early Years. Here at Easingwold we become confident and independent learners right from the start.

This year we are lucky to have a number of skilled staff working  in our classroom:

Mrs Mackenzie (mon-wed) Miss Holliday (thurs/fri)

Mrs Heathfield

Miss Welburn

Mrs Mcguigan.

Miss Jennings.

The Early Years operates a free flow environment in which children direct their own learning. The teachers observe the children’s interests and follow up their next steps there and then! The topic is always changing and the children are offered a broad, balanced, exciting curriculum. The early years children are able to choose if they would like to lead their own learning inside or outside, there are lots opportunities to be experienced with the wide range of resources available.

We observe the children daily and share these observations with the children and the parents and carers. Remember to see your child's class teacher to have their learning journey emailed or if you want to  look at your child's learning journey folder. You can contribute to your child's learning journey by filling in a wow moment sheet, these  are on the notice board in the cloakroom.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is an important stage as it helps prepare your child for future learning and successes. At Easingwold we ensure your child has a happy, exciting, active and secure experience. To help us enjoy the outdoor classroom, it is important that we bring:

A pair of wellies
A set of waterproofs
A water bottle for the classroom (separate from a lunch drink)
A full set of spare clothes in a small bag

(ALL with names on them!)

You can find the Early Years unit at the end of the school, room 10.
