Timetable

Below is a link to our most up-to-date timetable. Year 5 is an ideal time for children to gain as much independece as possible and therefore this timetable can help children to organise themselves and their resources for school. Please support us by encouraging independence and good organisational skills.

Homework Expectations

We expect the children in Year 5 to read at least five times a week and for an adult at home to sign this off. The children have been provided with home/school diaries and we would like to see every child’s diary complete with a recording of the books they are reading and which page number they are up to. Most should be able to do this themselves, however it is still highly beneficial to hear your child read. Please initial your child’s reading. There will be space for you in the diary to write a comment if you so wish.

Please support your child by ensuring they complete their homework. We also expect them to regularly practise their weekly spellings and current Maths target. Your child will be set homework on a Friday which is to be returned the following Wednesday. Please encourage your child to complete this to a high standard, with particular care to presentation and quality of sentences, and as soon as possible, getting them into the habit of handing it in on time.

PE

The PE timetable is as follows:

Miss Hill

Indoor PE on Tuesday

Outdoor PE on Wednesday

Miss Kempf

Indoor PE on Monday

Outdoor PE on Wednesday

We expect children to be wearing the approved school uniform and P.E kit. We kindly remind parents that children who have long hair must have this tied back for PE and jewellry should not be worn for safety purposes. During the winder months, Please can you ensure that the children are wearing something warm for our outdoor PE days.

We look forward to seeing how much the children progress this year. Watch this space!
