We are passionate about teaching maths at Easingwold Primary. Like all the other subjects we strive to make all of our maths lessons as exciting, practical and as real life as possible.

We are very well resourced for maths and we regularly use a wide range of equipment to support children in their understanding. We run many maths intervention programmes to support children who are finding maths difficult such as Securing understanding, Number Counts and Numicon.

Once a term we run a Mega Maths morning where each class spends the whole morning working on topic based maths problems and puzzles.

At Easingwold Primary each child is provided with a subscription to the popular maths website Mathletics. This website allows children to complete maths activities and homework and they are also able to use Live Mathletics to race against children all over the world!

To support parents we hold open mornings where parents can come and watch maths lessons and join in with the learning. We also hold parents evenings explaining how we teach maths in school and the methods we use.

The calculation policy that we use in school is attached below to help you support your child with the current method they are learning in school.
